Our Client
Our client, the world’s largest off-grid solar energy company with presence in Africa and Asia and with products that serves an estimated 53million people across 35 countries is seeking to appoint a seasoned General Manager, Sales.
The Role
Reporting to the co-founder, you will be responsible for:
Building, mentoring and managing a high performing sales organization covering both direct sales, partnerships management and business development team.
- In your capacity managing the partnerships business, you will:
- Oversee a close-knit account management and business development team focused on recruiting new, high-potential partners and supporting the partners to expand their sales.
- Foster strong direct relationships with key and potential distribution partners
- Represent the company at industry-level events and engagements
- Deliver on revenue, business development, account management and profitability goal
- In your capacity leading new pay-as-you-go country businesses, you will:
- Establish and grow a large team of field-based staff and indirect agents
- Drive field team to deliver on sales, collections and customer service KPIs
- Lead coordination between risk, call center and technology teams to ensure seamless setup and execution of company processes
- Deliver on people, sales, repayment performance and profitability goals
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10+ years of sales and P&L management experience
- Experience building and managing high-performing teams in direct and indirect channel sale
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to help teams understand performance data, identify opportunities and scale the business overall
- Experience working with C-level executives and track record of influencing behaviors at a variety of levels in the organization including cross functional leaders.
