Head, Strategy & Corporate Planning

Our client is a leading commercial Bank and Financial Service provider specializing in delivering Personalized solutions to individuals, business and institutions. Currently, they are seeking Head, Strategy & Corporate Planning (AM-MGR)

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Responsible For: 

  • Collaborating with executives and managers to develop long-range, strategic goals for the Bank. 
  • Engaging in the development of the Bank’s long-term strategic plan and annual business plan for approval by Senior Management and the Board of Directors within the given timeframe. 
  • Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the plans, pointing out material negative deviations, and recommending prompt corrective actions. 
  • Monitoring and proactively analyzing internal and external events that affect the Bank to provide ideas and intellectual leadership for both short-term tactics and long-term positioning and vision. 
  • Providing professional input into the Bank-wide annual business planning and budgeting process through distilling the Bank’s strategic goals into annual activity plans and advising senior management on the most efficient allocation of tasks for respective departments and units. 
  • Communicating the Bank’s long-term and annual business plan as approved by the Board of Directors to all staff and putting in place monitoring and reporting mechanisms for the benefit of Senior Management and staff members. 
  • Participating in the creation and implementation of a customer feedback loop to ensure the Bank captures customer comments and concerns about its business processes and adequately responds to them to maintain a customer-centric focus. 
  • Working with the Risk Management department to define the Bank’s annual risk appetite. 
  • Participating in the development of a methodology for monitoring the development impact of the Bank’s operations and supporting the development of new products in line with strategic goals. 
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or industry-related field required, MBA highly preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar capacity. Consulting experience is an added advantage. 
  • Additional professional qualifications (CFA, ICAN/ACCA, CIMA) is an added advantage. 
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting strategic business plans for use in the financial services industry. 
  • Expert understanding of financial analysis, modelling, statistical analysis, and related software. 
  • Experience in offering strategic insight into industry, consumer, and competitor trends. 
  • Strong presentation skills (written and verbal) and experience in presenting and selling ideas to Senior Management. 
  • Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change-oriented setting. 
  • Ability to interact with senior officials of international agencies, multilaterals, banks, corporates, and governments. 
  • Experience managing a team. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time within a fast-paced environment requiring deliverables with short lead times.
