A reputable investment company with a specialization in creating impact within various sectors through its subsidiaries, towards unlocking value across emerging and frontier markets while offering strategic investment solutions to its stakeholders is seeking to appoint a Group Head Finance, Strategy & Investments.
The Role
Reporting to the Group CEO, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the Group’s financial accounting & reporting; budget management & performance reporting; treasury management and principal investments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define, develop and drive high-quality business strategies and plans while ensuring their alignment with the Group’s short – long term objectives.
- Analyze and make a recommendation on the impact of long-range growth initiatives, planning, and introduction of new strategies and regulatory actions to the Board of Directors.
- Evaluate and Supervise the company’s financial, operational, sales and marketing structures to plan for continual improvements and a continual increase in operating efficiencies.
- Evaluate and recommend business portfolio frameworks, strategies, financial concepts, practices, programs, processes; and measures to be applied across the business.
- Establish KPIs that the business will measure performances against and determine the effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
- Supervise the planning and budgeting process continually by educating departments and key members of corporate leadership.
- Assume ownership of and communicate the strategic direction of the Group’s Finance function to the subsidiaries, ensuring an accurate understanding of roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities in collaboration with the CFO.
- Supervise the finance team to develop a solid cash flow projection and reporting mechanism, which includes setting a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
- Drive the formulation and implementation of the Group’s Finance function’s operational strategy, policies, procedures, and frameworks in line with the overall Group Strategy.
- Provide strategic input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization; specifically relating to the evaluation of proprietary investments.
- Supervise the Principal Investment Unit to drive the Group’s Investment activities and ensure sectoral allocation are in line with the corporate objectives of the Group.
- Review the Group’s Capital structure and recommend optimal strategies to manage the Group’s borrowing capacity to finance future growth.

- Act as custodian and recommend changes where applicable to the Group Investment Policy document
Ideal Candidate Profile
• 18+ years of experience in the industry.
- BSc in Business or related field.
- MBA from a recognized institution will be of added advantage
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to help teams understand performance data, identify opportunities, and scale the business overall
- Experience working with C-level executives and track record of influencing behaviors at a variety of levels in the organization including cross-functional leaders.
