Job Summary
The Business Development Manager – HR Services will be responsible for driving business growth and revenue generation across the organization’s HR service offerings within the region. These include Recruitment & Talent Acquisition, HR Outsourcing, Learning & Development (L&D), Background Checks & Verification, and HR Advisory services.
The role requires strong market knowledge of the business environment, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to engage decision-makers across SMEs, multinationals, startups, and public/private sector organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities within Lagos and other key commercial hubs in Nigeria.
- Drive sales across HR services including recruitment, outsourcing, L&D, background checks, and HR advisory.
- Develop and execute market-entry and account growth strategies tailored to Nigerian organizations.
- Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and manage strong relationships with business owners, HR Heads, People & Culture Managers, and C-suite executives.
- Conduct needs assessments and proposes customized HR solutions aligned with client business goals.
- Manage end-to-end sales cycles: lead generation, pitch, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Ensure client retention through quality engagement and value-driven service delivery.
Service Line Focus
- Recruitment: Sell permanent, contract, and executive search solutions across multiple industries.
- HR Outsourcing: Promote payroll administration, HR operations, compliance, and workforce management services.
- Learning & Development: Market leadership training, employee development programs, and organizational development interventions.
- Background Checks & Verification: Drive background screening services in line with Nigerian compliance, NDPR, and industry standards.
- HR Advisory: Support sales of HR audits, policy development, organizational restructuring, and HR compliance services.
Market Intelligence & Partnerships
- Track industry trends, labor market movements, and competitor activities within Nigeria.
- Identify partnership opportunities with business associations, training institutions, and industry bodies.
- Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and business forums.
Reporting & Internal Collaboration
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and update CRM records accurately.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales performance reports.
- Collaborate with internal recruitment, operations, and consulting teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years’ experience in business development or sales within HR services, consulting, recruitment, or professional services in Nigeria.
- Proven experience selling B2B services to Nigerian organizations.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian labor market dynamics and HR compliance landscape.
