Job Description
Pivotage Consulting is seeking a driven and commercially-minded Learning & Development Specialist to design, deliver, and scale training solutions for our internal team and client organisations. This role sits at the intersection of instructional expertise and business development – you’ll be responsible not just for building great learning experiences, but for turning L&D into a genuine revenue-generating function of the business.
The ideal candidate understands structured training systems, regulatory frameworks (including ITF compliance), and knows how to package and sell learning solutions that clients are willing to pay for.
Key Responsibilities
Training Design & Delivery
- Design, develop, and implement structured training programs and curricula for both internal staff and client organisations
- Facilitate training sessions across various formats (in-person, virtual, blended learning)
- Ensure training content aligns with industry best practices and regulatory standards
Revenue Generation & Business Development
- Develop and package income-generating training programs, workshops, and certification courses for external clients
- Identify market gaps and emerging training needs to create new revenue streams for the L&D unit
- Support business development efforts by pitching customised training solutions to prospective clients
- Track and report on training-related revenue against set targets
Compliance & Documentation
- Manage end-to-end ITF (Industrial Training Fund) documentation, reimbursement claims, and compliance processes
- Ensure all training programs meet relevant regulatory and statutory requirements
- Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate training logistics, scheduling, vendor/facilitator engagement, and participant management
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align training programs with organisational goals
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals
Impact Measurement & Reporting
- Track and evaluate learning impact using relevant metrics (e.g., completion rates, knowledge retention, behavioural change, ROI)
- Prepare detailed reports and analytics for management and client presentations
- Continuously refine training approaches based on data-driven insights
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ cognate experience in Learning & Development, preferably within an HR consulting or professional services environment
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering income-generating training programs
- Strong working knowledge of ITF documentation, claims processing, and compliance
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple training programs simultaneously
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with comfort working with training/learning metrics
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPM, CIPD, ATD) is an advantage
